Some time ago it had heard the news that Intel is preparing a processor codenamed Avoton. Recently Avoton is known that 8-core processors by Intel that will be prepared to storm the market in the third quarter of 2013.
Avoton processors made by Intel's embedded instruction enkripse SSE4 and AES instructions. Avoton will carry the number of cores to 8 pieces, combined with a capacity of 4MB L2 cache, support for PCI Express 2.0, DDR3 memory controller, and other public interfaces.
Intel Avoton this type of architecture using out-of-order Silvermont which has been used by the Atom processor line. This is an indication that Intel is targeting markets Avoton energy-efficient processors.
Avoton generation processors made by Intel will be using the nomenclature as C2350, C2530, C2550, C2730, and C2750. Intel seems to steer this Avoton processor micro server market to target servers that require high performance with low power consumption.
As quoted from Softpedia (08/23/2013), until recently the Intel reluctant to give information or official response is related to the presence of Avoton processor. Quite clear, that the processor is not directed to the regular consumer market.
The consumer market is dominated by Intel Core Series processor line is carrying the highest 6-core processors that are embedded in the product line Core i7 Extreme Series
